Senior Manager - Scribing & Campaigns Management
How did you get here? Describe your career history and background that led you to your role at HorizonOne.
After spending 14 years in the APS working as a Senior Recruitment Manager I felt it was time for a change, so decided to move into the private sector. As a HR Manager I was often exposed to bulk round recruitment processes which was the start of my passion for the industry. Therefore it was a natural step for me to move into the private sector side of recruitment campaigns and I began work as a Manager of Bulk Recruitment Campaigns and Scribing. During this time I managed several APS graduate campaigns and bulk recruitment processes well as working on the design and facilitation of assessment centres for these processes.
I really enjoyed and flourished in this environment and spent almost 12 years building up a successful and well regarded recruitment process outsourcing business line. Then came a major internal shake-up of the company structure. This gave me the push I needed to decide it was time for a new challenge and HorizonOne’s reputation for excellent recruitment and scribing services is what led me here.
What does your role involve?
My role involves managing the recruitment campaigns and scribing side of our business. This can mean anything from meeting with our clients to discuss their individual needs, designing innovative recruitment campaigns, facilitating assessment centres, managing large scale recruitment and bulk rounds as well as working alongside Melissa to manage the day to day movements of our team of scribing consultants.
What would you say is good about HorizonOne’s approach to recruitment and scribing?
HorizonOne’s values are closely aligned with my own personal values which was a major factor in my decision to join the team. We have a dedicated team here and centralised support for our scribes, which is not something you always see in recruitment companies.
It’s also just a great environment to be part of, where fresh ideas are encouraged. The team are innovative, energised and great at finding inventive and fresh solutions to old problems. It’s really inspiring and encourages me to become better and brighter every day!
What do you like best about your role?
I love the variety and the challenges I face here. Seeing the team succeed, working with a diverse range of clients and working with new clients is really rewarding. Over the last 6 to 12 months we’ve secured long term clients to help them with their workforce planning. Being able to use contemporary recruitment practices and methodologies, and impart knowledge is a rewarding part of day to day life.
Outside of work I love to…..
Travel! Italy is my favourite place, and one day I’d love to move there. The food might have something to do with it too! I love trying new restaurants, and while Italian is at the top of the list, Vietnamese and Yum Cha are also favourites.
Who is the biggest stirrer in the office?
David Harrington would have to have the quickest wit evidenced so far! Within the scribing team, Cheryne is a bit of a stirrer!
