Senior Program Officer APS6
Our client is a large federal government department that develops and implements policies and programs to ensure the competitiveness, profitability and sustainability of a broad range of Australian industries. Located centrally in Canberra, you’ll have access to great coffee and food to keep you going through the day.
This is an opportunity to join a small team assisting the Director to manage the quality assurance and monitoring programs. You will be providing supervision and assistance to the three APS on the team and be supported by the two other EL1s and the Director.

You will be entering a previously vacant position for a 12 month contract, working in a team that has a strong impact on industry policy and market access.
This is your chance to come in lead by example and take responsibility for the quality assurance.
In this role you will be:
- Managing the departments day-to-day monitoring programs
- Drafting and reviewing a variety of materials, from executive briefs to industry reports, to progress programs
- Engaging with a diverse internal/external stakeholder groups to ensure smooth headway on existing and ad hoc programs.
This role will see you drawing on your experience as you tackle some of the day-to-day tasks and take ownership and show initiative in progressing things. With the high quality of work that you have always prided yourself while leading by example.
You will get to use your initiative, flexibility, personal motivation, and ability to prioritise work and deliver programs within agreed timeframes.

Ideally, you will have experience in delivering operational programs as well as the ability to communicate your data analysis to a wide range of technical and non-technical staff.
Due to the nature of the work a Baseline security clearance or above is required to apply.
$55 – $65 per hour + Super.
