The Australian-American Fulbright Commission is a non-profit scholarship foundation operating exclusively between Australia and America. Sponsored by both governments, Fulbright has promoted bilateral educational and cultural exchange between Australia and the U.S for over 70 years with a central focus on developing long-lasting, productive bilateral relations, partnerships, and connections between Australia and the U.S.

The Opportunity

This permanent entry level opportunity for Australia’s largest, oldest, and most prestigious bilateral exchange programs.

The Role

As the Scholarships Officer, you will be responsible for the delivery of the Fulbright Scholarships program, as well as promotion, formal communications, alumni relations, and grants management. This will include fostering productive relationships with stakeholder and affiliate organisations. As part of your role, you will:

  • Assist the Australian and US Scholar Programs by guiding scholars through the process effectively with strong communication and outlining requirements for Visas, signing of contracts and payments associate with the programs of work
  • Develop and execute promotion campaign collaboration with the Scholarships manager for public outreach and program promotion
  • Provide reporting to the Scholarships Manager with ongoing status updates on scholarship grantees. Contribute to annual reports, future reports and other sponsor or donor reports.
  • Undertake relationship management with a range of senior executives, Embassy’s, and Australian Consulates
  • Engage and cultivate Alumni relationships both in Australia and the US

Your Background and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need some administrative experience, or a recent graduate would be well suited.

You will also:

  • Be a self-starter who is eager to learn and develop their skills in stakeholder engagement and maintain a high-level customer service to the scholarship recipients
  • Strive for excellence and be able to identify areas for improvement and work both independently and as a team

  • $72,711 annual salary + 12% super and salary sacrifice package options
