Principal or Executive Director - Management Consulting
Are you sick of not having the freedom to dive in and solve your clients “root cause” problems? Does it feel like you sometimes only scratch the surface?
Our client is an emerging specialist consulting firm in the Canberra market that is tackling some of the big problems Governments face, head on. They only pitch solutions they think will last, and they don’t just “work” a client to maximise the fees. Focusing predominantly on Defence and National Security, they help their clients tackle massive complexity through better governance and risk management tied to integrated, tailored “high tech” solutions. Our client appreciates and respects the gravity and significance of their clients do in keeping Australia safe. They take seriously their part in supporting them.
This business is agile SME, but backed by a mid-tier firm, so you have freedom to act entrepreneurially, plus the scalability of a much larger business.
This is an opportunity to make a real, lasting difference to large organisations with complex problems, working with an agile team passionate about delivering results.
If you are feeling that whilst successful, your work is feeling a touch transactional, or you are restricted by ‘big firm bureaucracy’, this could be the right moment to break out of the mould. This is an opportunity to build a stake and drive your own destiny.
Forget about responding to a continuous flow of RFQ’s and tenders competing for the next piece of work. Your stakeholders will be SES Band 1, 2’s and 3’s, and your focus will be partnering with them to support strategic change. Our client focuses on addressing the challenges in governance, risk and assurance in larger organisations. They are trusted to tackle enduring problems of National significance.
Picture yourself here:
Lead Defence Executives from Navy come to you. It is post Cyclone Yasi and they have not been able to support recovery operations as intended due to resources being unavailable despite information to the contrary. With all the governance and controls, assurance and leadership in play, how have CASG and Navy got to this point?
Where do you think you would start to help address this challenge?
You will lead by example, undertaking strategic consulting assignments, leveraging your personal expertise and credentials, and leading engagements in order to deepen relationships and develop new business aligned with the company mission.
You are a highly capable Management Consultant with a promising career ahead of you, however, you have an itch to find your own groove. You often feel like you only get to scratch the surface of the problems your clients face, and you would love to have the freedom to build stuff and innovate, without jumping through all the hoops.
Your background focuses on problems of governance, risk and strategy, and of course, people. You have strong tertiary/postgraduate qualifications in your field, and have ideally worked using a variety of project methodologies including AgilePM and design thinking.
You take great pride in your personal brand in the Canberra market and have a strong track record delivering across a broad range of clients. Ideally you will have relationships within and National Security organisations (e.g. Defence, Home Affairs, AFP, ASD, ASIO). You are a competent business developerestablishing, managing and sustaining successful business relationships.
A very competitive Director level salary package will be negotiated
Performance incentives are strong, and include profit share (annualised) or value share growth.
