Marketing and Sponsorship Executive
The Canberra Racing Club (CRC) is a community-orientated organisation responsible for thoroughbred horse racing in the ACT. The club conducts 25 race meetings each year including the ACT’s premier races; the Black Opal Stakes and the Canberra Cup.
In addition to the 25 races, CRC hosts a range of events throughout the year including conferences, festivals and corporate development days. Situated on the corner of Flemington Road and the Federal Highway, CRC is about to embark on an exciting period of growth and development across its 4 major offerings; racing & the racecourse, sponsorship & marketing, catering & events and CRC memberships.
As the Marketing and Sponsorship Executive you will play a key role in marketing the organisation to develop new sponsorships and nurture existing ones, along using your creative side while managing the organisation’s social media including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
This is an exciting time at the organisation where you will have the opportunity to work alongside the Chief Operating Officer and be part of their growth and modernisation project.
Working as the Marketing and Sponsorship Executive you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Prospecting for new clients via networking, advertising or other means
- Developing a rapport with new and existing sponsors / clients
- Attending industry functions, such as associations events and conferences to gain information on market trends
- Identifying opportunities for campaigns, services and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
- Preparing annual marketing budgets and producing weekly reports
With your previous experience in a similar marketing and sponsorship role, you will be a team player, enjoy multi-tasking and have the ability to build strong working relationships.
You will enjoy the creative side of the role, in seeking new business opportunities and wider avenues for revenue generation and you will want to be a part of a growth project where you will be able to see the results of your successes.
Naturally, this is an active and diverse work environment, where thoroughbred horses are part of the norm. You will also benefit from working on the edge of the city, with free car parking and easy access to the light rail.
Knowledge of the racing industry is preferred but not essential.
