EL1 Financial Controller
High profile government entity working in the cultural space. Our client offers an interesting and engaging place to work with a range of high profile events taking place throughout the year, and some interesting financial challenges that are more commercial in nature than standard government accounting matters.
The role is a permanent vacancy but offered initially as a contract to start, with permanent recruitment to take place later. This national cultural institution is a workplace of choice, with a great working culture and good opportunity for career progression available. You will be working alongside a leading CFO where you will get the chance to work in some very interesting and high profile projects and events. They have a small finance team that work closely together and with the broader organisation as well.
As the Financial Controller, you will work closely with the Head of Finance and be responsible for financial reporting, treasury and financial operations.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Delivering month-end and year-end financial statements
- Developing and providing advice on finance policies and procedures
- Providing appropriate reporting on the financial operations, including cash and investment management reporting
- Managing and developing the financial system to meet reporting requirements and the information needs of internal stakeholders
- Managing finance team members and their required outcomes.
This role requires a high performing Accountant with very strong commercial acumen and analysis skills. You will need to be CPA/CA qualified with a strong business accounting background and potentially some existing knowledge of government accounting frameworks.
You will also demonstrate outstanding problem solving skills and interpersonal communications with the ability to lead projects and develop new initiatives.
Up to $114K + 15.4% super.
This long term non-ongoing contract with a potential for permanent with the right person.
