Finance Officer - WildBear Entertainment
WildBear is a media content company headquartered in Canberra with offices in Sydney and Brisbane. As an integrated factual content company, WildBear is a broad based production business working across television, theatrical, corporate, educational, and government communications.
WildBear’s clients include major international broadcasters such as the History and Discovery channels, National Geographic, and ABC TV to name a few. They also work closely with federal and state governments and a number of private corporations.
WildBear is looking to appoint a high performing Finance Officer to join a nimble, high performing finance team and business. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will have a strong mentor and coach who is seeking to help you develop your finance career. As a part of this unique business, you will be required to learn the finance function from the ground up, and being an agile team you will be exposed to a wide variety of work. The whole team is required to be hands on and they have a culture of banding together to create great results for their clients and the company. They are improvement focused, so you will have the chance to make things better and make your mark on the operation.
This role is a mixture of management accounting and finance duties, with excellent variety to your week and month.
Key responsibilities include:
- Month end balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
- Daily management of the consolidated cash flow forecast
- Liaise with Insurance Broker
- Oversee business OpEx, Credit Cards and petty cash
- Prepare, lodge, and pay payroll tax
- Prepare BAS / FBT information for external accountant
- Set up new companies and bank accounts as and when required / manage ASIC corporate documentation
You are likely a high performing, up and coming finance professional looking to be stretched to the next level – you learn fast, have high attention to detail, and enjoy producing volumes of quality work.
You have a degree in Accounting (or similar) and may well be on your way to a CA/CPA qualification. This is not your first role – you have at least 1-3 years’ experience doing similar work (for example in a tax firm or doing AP/AR/Payroll in a complex business), and you are strong on Excel and Xero (desirable).
Whilst you are technically strong and experienced, it is your first-rate communication skills in written and spoken form that have seen you progress in your career. You will be required to operate independently, so you are a self-motivated individual who can prioritise work whilst dealing with competing demands, and you are known as a team player who is improvement focused.
This permanent role is available for Australian citizens and Permanent Residents.
