Assistant Director, Recruitment

The Organisation:

Our client is a specialist Government agency and statutory authority that plays a critical role in Australia’s democracy.

The Opportunity:

This is an opportunity to work with a supportive HR team as the Assistant Director managing the day to day matters relating to recruitment and employment separation in addition to participating in planning and aligning long term plans within agency goals and objectives.

The Role:

This position will lead a team responsible for undertaking complex and sensitive work while providing specialist advice, guidance and assistance of a complex and sensitive nature on all aspects of recruitment and separation to ensure compliance

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage a service oriented team to deliver high quality and timely recruitment and separation outputs for the agency, including building team capability to maintain a high level of expertise and encouraging career development.
  • Provide analysis and judgement on complex issues, making significant contribution to the management, preparation and coordination of the recruitment, retention and separation strategy, policy formulation and/or program/project management.
  • Develop and manage internal and external relationships with key stakeholders, identifying opportunities and representing the agency views.
  • Communicate and make decisions using professional judgement, evaluating risks within the context of a complex and changing environment.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will be self-starter with a positive can do attitude with in depth knowledge and experience developing and implementing people management initiatives, policies and procedures particularly within recruitment and separation.

You will have a Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a similar field and/or at least 3 years knowledge and experience working in a HR environment

You will have a demonstrated knowledge of the Commonwealth frameworks, including Resource Management and people management.

The Salary/Rate:

$65-$75 an hour + Super
