APS6 Policy Officers, multiple positions
Our client is a large federal government department that develops and implements policies and programs that minimise our environmental impact, advocate for cultural heritage and environmental protection and manage biosecurity risk to the country to ensure safe trade and market access for plants and animals fuelling farming, research and industry.

The Opportunity
There is an APS6 Policy Officer position available for a 12-month Labour-Hire Contract.
You will join a growing team that is supporting a reform program to deliver a new system to replace airport modules for international travellers.
You will have opportunities to develop and apply your skills in analysis, policy leadership, stakeholder management and policy as well as program delivery.
The Role
As an APS6 Policy Officer you will be responsible for:
- Leading and coordinating the development of strategic policy
- Developing and reviewing traveller policy which aligns with relevant legislation and departmental requirements

Your Background and Experience
The ideal candidate will have government experience and a background in policy or project positions.
You will also require the following capabilities:
- The ability to think strategically
- A demonstrated ability to lead a small team, manage performance and establish an effective team culture
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage internal and external stakeholders
- The ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of both internal and stakeholders
- The ability to work both independently and in a team environment to produce high quality outputs
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify key issues and propose timely solutions
Experience working with skills, employment, education or labour market information or data is highly desirable.
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Be an Australian citizen
- Be willing to undergo a police check
- Have or be willing to obtain a Baseline security clearance
Salary / Rate
- $60 – $65 per hour + 10% super (includes casual loading)
- 12-month labour hire opportunity
- Multiple positions available
