APS6 & EL1 External Budgets | Perm transfer

The Opportunity:

Working in a medium to large management accounting team, you will be part of the external budgets team. You will have the opportunity to get involved in some significant projects in terms of complexity and financial value. Given the size of the finance team, there is a strong opportunity to explore other areas in the management accounting and financial accounting team where you will be supported by highly capable managers who will invest in your career. The Role:

You will be part of the external budgets team responsible for preparing and producing the PBS and PAES documents.

In addition to this, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of external budgets within CBMS
  • Developing and maintaining supporting worksheets for external budgets at each milestone
  • Assisting in the coordination of budget processes and documentation
  • Reviewing and rewriting policies and procedures to support the external budget model
  • Assisting in the preparation of senate estimate packs for senior stakeholders.

The Person:

We are looking for a high performing government accountant with excellent analytical skills who has a strong understanding of government budget processes and enjoys the challenge of ensuring reporting requirements are met within timeframes.

You will work with stakeholders across the business and have the ability to anticipate their expectations and provide evidence based recommendations on various funding strategies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential along with very good writing ability.

A minimum Baseline security clearance is required, and at this stage, this role is offered as a transfer for existing APS employees at level.

The Salary/Rate:

$75K – $110K + Super or salary match for existing APS employees.
