APS5 Communication Officer

The Organisation:

This small government agency plays a high profile function working across the Commonwealth. Their role is significant to the lives of many Australians and they have been operating successfully for over 40 years.

The Opportunity:

This is an opportunity to grow and develop your generalist Communication Officer skills. Working as part of a small team of four, you’ll have to extend yourself and take on additional areas of responsibility as you grow into this role.

The Role:

Working as part of a small yet high performing team you will support the Communications Manager by delivering effective communication solutions while working collaboratively to achieve results.

You will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Drafting and editing communication material including reports, intranet articles
  • Providing Social Media support when and where required
  • Assisting with brand management, and liaising with outsourced talent such as graphic designers, video production and print companies.
  • Assistance with physical and digital communications material
  • High level of editing across factsheets and various reports
  • Coordination of internal communications

The Person:

You’ll be someone with strong written and verbal communications skills, and a flair for design. Your collaboration and liaison skills will be key to your success. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop and Indesign will also be an advantage. Your previous experience working in a similar Federal Government position will put you on the front foot to hit the ground running and add value from day one.

Ideally, you are the type of person who can think outside the box, are highly organised and great with attention to detail.

The Salary/Rate:

$50 – $55 per hour plus Super
