APS4 SAP and Aurion Payroll Officer

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and busy environment, working in a supportive team of experienced payroll officers that are collectively responsible for looking after the full life cycle of payroll. This is your chance to secure a role within the public service with an initial 6-month contract with options to extend.

The Role

Reporting to a Senior Payroll Officer, you will provide high-level payroll services to over 7,000 employees. Under limited direction you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Administer leave and pay variations, including some of the more complex processes in relation to employee pays, compensation, superannuation, employee movements, commencements and separations, maternity leave using SAP and/or Aurion
  • Complete allocated workloads and checking in designated timeframes as required within the team to ensure cut off periods are met
  • Assist in the distribution and answering of correspondence for the payroll services section including the payroll inbox and helpdesk phone
  • Complete record keeping duties as required for the payroll services section (Personnel filing & Trim database)
  • Prepare correspondence and provide accurate and timely advice to clients on payroll related issues
  • Prepare the payment of invoices ss required, and in a timely manner
  • Perform ad hoc administration duties as required, and in a timely manner
  • Maintain KPIs and work registers as required, and in a timely manner
  • Perform system testing for the Payroll Services Section as required.
  • Actively contribute to positive team relationships and provide assistance to other team members

The Ideal Person

To be successful in this role you need excellent communication skills, sound judgement, commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to work with limited direction. You will also be confident in resolving problems and providing clear, constructive, and timely advice and feedback.

You will have a strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy.

Salary / Rate

  • $40 – $55 per hour plus Super
  • 6 Month Contract with options to extend
