APS4/5 Payroll Officer

The Opportunity
Multiple opportunities exist for payroll officers with payroll experience within the Australian Public Service to work in a busy and fast-paced environment that will offer you challenges while operating in a supportive team which will help keep you sane during the throws of payroll disasters!
Whilst a Baseline clearance is preferred, this area is willing to accept applicants with APS experience and will sponsor you for a clearance.
The Role
As the Payroll Officer your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Leave amendments and audits
- Commencements, promotions and extensions
- Salary and allowance processing
- Maternity and long service leave
- Replying to queries from internal staff
- Calculating complex payroll processing including calculations for shift workers, overtime conditions etc
Your Background and Experience
As an experienced Payroll Processing Officer, you will have an excellent attitude with strong attention to detail and clear and concise communication skills. In addition to this, you will be capable of working either autonomously or in a team and will be motivated by a fast-paced and energetic environment.
You will require excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify numerical errors and use analytical skills to assist with business operations. Your ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and provide expert advice will see you achieve success in this role.
You will have demonstrated previous APS payroll processing experience and ideally a current Baseline security clearance although this is not mandatory – the department will sponsor you!
Salary / Rate
- $40 – $50 an hour + Super
- 6 month contract
