APS4/5 External Budgets Officer - s26 or contract
Our high profile client is a large Federal Government Department responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of initiatives responsible for ensuring the wellbeing of all Australians.

Whilst a permanent transfer is preferred, a long-term contract would also be available for a top candidate looking to come out of the private sector or Federal Government consulting into the APS. They are located in south Canberra and are a well-known large sized Agency.
The Role
This role sits with the external budgets finance team but works extensively across the business to engage with relevant stakeholders and to help build key budget models for internal budgeting, and then assists with coordination of the external budget process including reviewing work done by the line areas. You will need to get to know the business areas and key programmes back to front, so that you can produce accurate costings and forecasts underpinned by supported assumptions. You will get a helicopter/macro view of the organisation.
Your Background and Experience
This role will suit a skilled APS4/5 Budget experienced individual with practical experience in budgeting & forecasting in complex business environments. Good accounting system skills (TechOne/SAP/CBMS) and advanced Microsoft Excel are a must.
You will demonstrate a level interpersonal skills, excellent communication (including the ability to write concise and clear pieces) and the ability to prioritise competing workflows in a rapidly moving context.

Salary / Rate
- $72-83K+ 15.4% Super OR salary match for transfers
- South location
- 12 month non-ongoing contract with view to permanency or s26 transfer
