APS 6 Policy Officer
Our client’s common purpose is improving the lives of Australians now and in the future. This is done through providing sound policy advice and ongoing partnerships with other agencies and stakeholders.
There has been a spike in work following a number of initiatives announced in the budget, which will lead to a change in legislation. This is an opportunity to be involved in the development of policy, primarily looking at developing performance differentiation measures, how they compare and contrast in a way that is valuable for consumers. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple projects.
This is a newly created role that has been identified to support the team deal with an increase in workload. The initial contract is for 6 months with the possibility of extension.
The key responsibilities of this role are:
- Drafting and preparing documents such as briefs, ministerial correspondence, speaking notes and meeting papers.
- Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders
You are passionate about seeing your work make a major difference to the quality of lives of underprivileged Australians. You work well in a dynamic environment where you need to manage competing priorities and resource constraints. You have highly developed written and oral communication. In particular, an ability to tailor a broad range of communication products to a variety of audiences. You have the ability to apply sound judgement to manage stakeholder sensitivities
A baseline security clearance is highly desirable
$50-$60 per hour + super
