The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to secure a 12-month non-ongoing contract or join via an s26 temporary transfer for existing APS employees.
In this dynamic and impactful role, you will contribute to vital communications initiatives designed to enhance cyber security awareness and drive behavioural change to help prevent scams and promote a safer Australia.
You will play a key role in the strategic planning, development, and delivery of a large-scale national campaign. This end-to-end project will feature a diverse range of channels, including TV advertising, social media, digital apps, and resource kits, all aimed at encouraging positive behavioural change and contributing to a more secure and resilient Australia.

The Role
- Manage the development of best-practice advertising campaigns within the Australian Government campaign framework.
- Prepare agency briefs, ministerial briefs and campaign reporting.
- Manage relationships with agencies.
- Manage contracts and oversee procurement and budgets specific to the campaign.
- Work closely with key stakeholders across the department and maintain productive relationships with counterparts in external agencies.
The Ideal Person
You will be a skilled and collaborative Assistant Director with demonstrated experience developing and delivering a government campaign.
We’d love to hear from you if you have a campaigns background and experience in state or federal government, or if you’ve worked in a consultancy firm with exposure to APS campaigns.
You will also have the following:
- Exceptional writing skills, attention to detail, and high expectations for quality
- Demonstrated capability to effectively oversee multiple priorities concurrently
- Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously and to work autonomously to achieve agreed plans and objectives
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with the maturity to engage effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders from various backgrounds.
Salary / Rate
- 12-month temporary s26 transfer or non-ongoing contract options available
- You must hold an Australian Government security clearance
- Location: You can be located in Canberra, Sydney or Brisbane with flexible work from home arrangements available
- EL1 salary guide: $129,000 – $143,000 + 15.4% super
