The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) is an Australian Government statutory agency created by the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012. They are a federal government agency created by legislation to promote and improve gender equality in Australian workplaces.
The aim of gender equality in the workplace is to achieve broadly equal opportunities and outcomes for women and men, not necessarily outcomes that are exactly the same for all.
Workplace gender equality will be achieved when people can access and enjoy equal rewards, resources and opportunities regardless of gender.
WGEA collect data to assist with the improvement of gender quality within the workplace and there is a requirement for businesses to submit data to show what steps they are taking to reduce the gap between genders in their workplace.
HorizonOne submits data yearly and by doing this, we are not only meeting our compliance obligations but also contributing to the Agency’s world-leading dataset on gender equality in Australian workplaces.
