Dementia Australia Memory Walk & Jog 2021

The HorizonOne Memory Walk & Jog team

THE HORIZONONE TEAM GATHERED ON THE SHORES OF LAKE BURLEY GRIFFIN BRIGHT AND EARLY TO TAKE PART IN THE MEMORY WALK & JOG, RAISING IMPORTANT FUNDS AND AWARENESS FOR DEMENTIA AUSTRALIA.

This was the sixth year that H1 entered a team for the annual event. Despite being held nationally, each Memory Walk & Jog raises funds to help provide services in its local area. The Canberra event raised just over $100,000, which will go towards vital support services to the estimated 6,130 people with dementia in the ACT. This includes counselling, support groups, education to help family carers and professional training. The funds also drive non-stop research partnerships where scientists work towards a possible future without dementia.

We extended an invite to all H1 team members and our contractors and scribes as well as family, friends and four-legged friends!

To be COVIDSafe, a staggered start was provided for all teams, so the H1 team set off nice and early at 8:15am. Whether we took part in the 2km or 5km walk or the 10km jog, it was a really great opportunity to come together as a team, get active and help beat dementia!

With everyone’s help, we also raised a total of $575 for the cause.
