What career background and qualifications shaped you for a career in recruitment?
My previous role was in financial administration and operations this was while I completed and post the completion of my double degree (Bachelor of Arts / Commerce). Balancing full time study with full time work really shaped me for a fast paced and energetic work environment. Not dissimilar to the world of recruitment.
What does your role involve?
My role involves a great variety of things. The crux of it is finding those excellent candidates and matching them with that unique role that is perfect for them. Behind the scenes there is administration, business development and support for the Senior Consultants.
What is different about working at HorizonOne compared to other organisations you have worked for?
You can bring your dog to work!
More seriously though, the environment here is truly supportive. Meaning each day you’re able to extend and hone your skills amongst an encouraging group of colleagues.
What do you like best about your role?
That I’m constantly learning. Each person you meet is different; has different wants, needs and unique skills. Not to mention all the different personalities! It keeps every day fresh and exciting. There is always a new challenge in finding that right match.
Who is the biggest stirrer in the office? Got a good example…..?
I’m going to go out on a limb and say Fiona… I’m not 100% certain yet on that but I can say all the puns and dad jokes being spurted throughout the office – are on point!
What is something you do outside of work others would be surprised by?
I’d love to say I do lots of fun things outside of work….other than volunteering for a few charities, working a couple of casual jobs and catching up with friends, I don’t do much. When I was still in school however, I played the flute professionally and was in a circus group. Yep that’s right – I can still juggle.
